Oddat meets with Syrian charge d'affaires over parliamentary cooperation

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Abdulmunim Oddat on Thursday met the acting charge d'affaires of the Syrian embassy, Issam Yanal, over enhancing parliamentary cooperation.

Oddat, during the meeting, highlighted the ongoing Jordanian-Syrian parliamentary coordination to serve the two nations’ common interests, as well as Arab causes, foremost of which the Palestinian cause, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The Syrian diplomat expressed appreciation of the Kingdom’s supportive stances towards Syria and the Palestinian cause, emphasising the importance of bolstering the Jordanian-Syrian parliamentary coordination.

Yanal also expressed his country’s keenness on maintaining cooperation with Amman, notably the reoperation of the Jaber border crossing at full capacity.
