Passenger traffic at QAIA up by 33% in July — CARC

AMMAN — Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) Chief Haitham Misto on Monday said that the amount of aircraft movements at Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) saw an 18 per cent growth in July, compared with June. The airport directly links the Kingdom to 69 direct destinations, according to Misto.

Compared with July 2021, the number of flights operated through QAIA grew by 37 per cent, with the airport seeing 5,359 incoming and outgoing flights, he added. Passenger traffic achieved a growth rate of 33 per cent in July compared with June, with one million passengers recorded. This figure is similar to July 2019, Misto said.

In 2021, the number of passengers saw a decline, recording nearly 700,000 passengers in July of that year, he noted. The number of daily flights reached 237 in July, compared with 173 during the same period in 2021 and 256 flights during July of 2019, Misto added.
