AMMAN — Prime Minister Hani Mulki on Thursday met with the Lower House's Democratic Bloc as part of a series of meetings with lawmakers to discuss the state budget, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Mulki stressed that the government’s economic corrective measures will not affect essential commodities or the middle- and low- income brackets.

He said the prices of water, bread and gas cylinders will not be raised and the price of electricity will be set according to global oil prices. The premier said the Kingdom is facing serious economic challenges.
