AMMAN — Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Wednesday visited injured Palestinians receiving treatment at the army-run King Hussein Medical Centre (KHMC) for wounds sustained during the ongoing Israeli attack on Gaza.

Royal Medical Services Director Maj. Gen. Khalaf Al Sarhan and supervising doctors briefed Ensour on the condition of the wounded and the treatment they are offered, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The first batch of Gaza patients included six Palestinians, three men, two women and a girl. They are currently being treated at the KHMC after they were referred by the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza due to the severity of their conditions.

Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications Mohammad Momani accompanied the premier on his visit.

Another group of nine Gazans were due to arrive later in the day at the KHMC, the agency reported.

Three were air-lifted by a Royal Jordanian Air Force aircraft while the other six persons were due to arrive via ambulances, according to Sarhan.

Upon the instructions of His Majesty King Abdullah, HRH Crown Prince Hussein on Sunday issued directives to the Jordan Armed Forces, requesting to extend further support for the makeshift hospital in Gaza and dispatching several ambulances to transfer wounded persons and casualties who have not been able to receive the needed treatment at the military-staffed hospital to the KHMC in Amman.
