PSD Chief commends Gendarmerie Forces’ service to nation

AMMAN — Director of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah and his pride in Gendarmerie Forces and their active role in providing security. 

Maaytah commended the achievements of Gendarmerie Forces, describing them as an example of professionalism and discipline.

The PSD continues to provide its services in an institutionalised manner as part of a journey that began more than a hundred years ago, he said.

Maj. Gen. Maaytah highlighted the need to maintain coordination to ensure an effective and timely response to crises in order to save lives and property in accordance with the best and optimal practices, in a transparent manner that safeguards human rights.

He directed PSD personnel to activate security and humanitarian plans and enhance preparedness to deal with the winter season and its harsh weather conditions. 

Stressing the continuation of providing logistical and operational support to the gendarmerie forces through training and rehabilitation programmes, he stressed the need to diversify training and involve state agencies and institutions, in cooperation with the Jordan Armed Forces.

Maaytah was briefed on duties, operational plans and procedures followed to improve performance and capabilities, and maintain a high level of cooperation and coordination among all PSD units.
