Safadi, UK foreign minister discuss cooperation

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs David Lammy on Sunday reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the historic bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in various fields.
Safadi and Lammy, over the phone, also discussed efforts to achieve an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and address the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in the Strip, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
They also reviewed recent regional developments and explored ways to de-escalate tensions in the region.
Safadi congratulated Lammy on his new position and expressed keenness to cooperate further to build on the robust relationship between Jordan and the UK.
Both ministers emphasised the importance of the ongoing consultations and agreed to hold more in-depth discussions at a meeting scheduled for the coming days.
