AMMAN — The Arab League has invited Jordan Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Khalid Toukan to join its Elders Panel on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.
The invitation was extended to Toukan in recognition of his expertise in the nuclear field, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Saturday.
The panel will prepare a comprehensive review on Arab countries’ nuclear policies to ensure they conform to international and regional standards, and to underline the Arab stance calling for a Middle East free of nuclear weapons, Petra added.
