Water theft cases detected in Amman, Maan

AMMAN — During a campaign carried out in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate (PSD), the Ministry of Water and Irrigation detected an illegal well in the Jafr area in Maan, and three major instances of siphoning water from pipelines to supply farms and ponds in southern Amman’s Manja and Umm Al Amad areas. 

In a statement on Monday, the ministry announced that an illegal rig had been seized and the illegal siphons removed, stressing that any violation involving water sources is a crime, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
