AMMAN — A painting exhibition entitled “Reeds” by prominent Iraqi artist Leila Kubba Kawash is now on display at Orfali Gallery in Amman, according to a statement sent to The Jordan Times. Kawash, who is a gallery owner in Beirut, has painted the Marshes of Iraq which need saving and preservation.

According to Leila, the marshes are the remains of an unchanging phenomenon.  Leila has a long history of painting. Her style has culminated in brushstrokes reminiscent of Van Gogh and yet, they are very relevant to the subject.

Her vast canvases allow dynamism in the details, but also show the peacefulness of the area, the statement said.
