AMMAN — The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN), in cooperation with the Arab Bank, is scheduled to hold the “Reserves Souq” event for the first time at the Wild Jordan Centre in Jabal Amman on Friday and Saturday.
The event aims at supporting the local community in carrying out responsible tourism activities in a sustainable manner, according to an RSCN statement.
Handicraft workshops have been established at the RSCN as part of the socio-economic development programme for local communities, where these workshops are distributed around reserves and environmentally important areas in a bid to expand the scope of local community beneficiaries, the statement added.
The event will display all products of the local communities, such as handicrafts, jewellery, ostrich eggs, foodstuff, honey and herbs.
