AMMAN — Financial deficit after grants in the first 11 months of 2021 dropped by JD280.3 million to JD1.487 compared with the same period of 2020, which highlights “the efficiency of the financial administration by the government”, the Finance Ministry said on Wednesday.
Local revenues in the January-November period of 2021 increased by JD1.08 billion or by 19.1 per cent compared to the same period of 2020, thanks to better collection of tax revenues, which rose by JD682 million and non-tax revenues by JD398 million, the ministry said as reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The ministry noted that the increase was mainly centred in tax revenues, which led to increasing the collection of the income tax to JD1.127 billion compared with JD1.04 billion in 2020.
As for non-tax revenues, the increase is mainly attributed to the sale of goods and services to JD767.3 million compared to JD553.6 million in the first 11 months of 2020, marking an increase of 38.6 per cent.
As for public expenditures, they incresed by JD671.3 million or 8.3 per cent, as a result of 4.9 per cent increase in current expenditures and capital expenditure by 54 per cent.
