Domestic flights between Amman, Aqaba resume on Wednesday

AMMAN — The King Hussein International Airport was “well prepared” to resume domestic flights between Aqaba and Amman on  Wednesday after flights were shut down due to travel restrictions to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

General Manager of Aqaba Airports Company (AAC) Nasser Majali told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the airport’s preparedness is “completely in accordance with the requirements and approvals of the Jordan Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission”.

He said that arrangements have been made for the arrival and departure of domestic flights operated by local airlines, including Royal Jordanian, Jordan Aviation and Fly Jordan, stressing that the airport will “stringently adhere” to health measures during the process.

“Physical distancing norms will be strictly followed and the entire terminal will be disinfected before and after the arrival of every flight, while thermometers will be provided to check passengers’ temperatures at a checkpoint along with other protective equipment including masks and gloves,” he added.
