AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ayman Safadi on Tuesday received a telephone call from his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, during which they discussed the Ukrainian crisis and its ramifications, as well as means to further develop bilateral relations.

The ministers stressed their keenness to increase cooperation between the two countries and to continue to explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation in economic endeavours, particularly in economic security, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Safadi reiterated Jordan's position with regard to resolving the Ukrainian crisis, stressing the need to respect Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity in conformity with international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

The two ministers also discussed the efforts of the Arab Contact Group formed by the Arab League to contribute to efforts to resolve the crisis, where the group met with the Ukrainian foreign minister in Warsaw and the Russian Foreign Minister in Moscow in April 2022.

Kuleba commended Jordan's position and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
