IAEA recommends drafting nuclear energy law

AMMAN — The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has recommended the drafting of a new comprehensive nuclear energy law that covers all the project’s elements and improves its organisational structure.
Jordan Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Khaled Toukan on Saturday briefed journalists on the IAEA report issued by experts who visited Jordan for 10 days to evaluate the infrastructure of the nuclear programme.
The experts recommended establishing a Jordanian nuclear electricity company as soon as possible and continuing with the infrastructure and environmental impact studies.
