King updated on progress in human resources plan

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday met with the president and members of the higher ministerial committee to follow up on and implement the National Strategy for Human Resources Development 2016-2025, launched in September, according to a Royal Court statement. 

During the meeting, attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania at the Basman Palace, His Majesty highlighted the importance of following up on the implementation of recommendations made by the national committee to develop human resources to reflect positively on education and human resources in the Kingdom.

King Abdullah also stressed the importance of holding meetings every three months to follow up on the implementation of plans entailed in the strategy. 

Prime Minister Hani Mulki, president of the higher ministerial committee, showcased the progress of the committee's work and the plans the government had prepared in order to implement and fund the strategy through actionable programmes and fixed time frames, with a focus on vocational training as a key instrument of the strategy. 

The meeting was attended by Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Education Minister Mohammad Thneibat, Planning and International Cooperation Minister Imad Fakhoury, King's Office Director Jafar Hassan, Higher Education Minister Adel Tweisi and Labour Minister Ali Ghezawi.
