AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi said that the government's decision to recall the Kingdom's ambassador in Tel Aviv was part of Jordan's "duties" towards the Palestinian people.
"This decision signifies a clear and firm position against the occupation and its crimes, massacres and atrocities in Gaza," Safadi said in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
He added that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, continues to prove that it does not compromise on Palestinians' rights and rejects the crimes of the occupation, labelling them "state terrorism".
Hailing the government's decision, the lawmaker said that recalling the Kingdom's envoy to Israel has been always a demand of the Chamber.
He also voiced lawmakers' rejection of the Israeli occupation's schemes to displace Palestinians. "This is a red line for Jordan."
