AMMAN — A march set out after Friday prayer from Al Husseini Mosque to Al Nakhil Square in downtown Amman, to protest against the agreement to import gas from Israel, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Hundreds of protesters took part in the march, raising Jordanian flags and chanting slogans to protest the recent gas deal between Jordan’s National Electric Power Company and Noble Energy, a Houston-based company that holds the largest share in the Israeli Leviathan gas field, located in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Israel.
Also on Friday, protesters held a sit-in in Karak Governorate near Al Omari Mosque to call for finding other alternatives.
