AMMAN — The Kingdom will remain under the impact of unstable weather conditions on Sunday, expected to bring lower temperatures and rainfall, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

The unstable weather, which was expected to start affecting the country Saturday evening, is forecast to cause a tangible drop in temperatures and bring thunderstorms to the northern and central regions, a JMD meteorologist said on Saturday.

A drop in temperatures is forecast for Sunday, when the weather will be relatively cold and cloudy, the meteorologist added, noting that rain, which will be heavy at times and accompanied by thunder, is expected, especially at night.

The impact of the unstable weather conditions is expected to gradually reach the southern region by Sunday night, he added.

Winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, while temperatures in Amman will range between a high of 18°C and a low of 8°C, according to the JMD.

Cold and cloudy weather is expected to continue on Monday, when scattered showers are forecast in the northern and central regions.

“As of Monday night, the impact of the unstable weather conditions is expected to ease off, but it will be cold with northwesterly moderate winds,” the weather forecaster said.

On Monday, temperatures in the capital will reach a maximum of 19°C during the day, dropping to a minimum of 7°C at night.

A slight rise in mercury levels is expected on Tuesday, but the weather will be relatively cold with temperatures in Amman ranging between 21°C and 7°C, and northeasterly moderate winds, according to the JMD meteorologist.
