AMMAN — The Independent Election Commission (IEC) Chief Commissioner Musa Maaytah on Wednesday emphasised the vital role the youth plays in the political modernisation process. During a meeting with students participating in the "Basma" summer project at Al Zahra Secondary School for Girls and Firas Al Ajlouni Secondary School for Boys, Maaytah highlighted the commission's commitment to involving young people in the political and democratic process through its education and awareness-raising programmes. The "Basma" project, a joint effort between the Ministry of Education and the IEC, aims to involve approximately 9,000 students through 88 centres, including all directorates of education, and military and UNRWA schools. It seeks to create a forward-looking generation capable of facing challenges and driving their society towards innovation and creativity, fostering a strong sense of national identity.
